Inspiration or Self Degredation?

Everyone does it.
You find the determination to go to the gym.
You see a person doing what you're doing, but better.
Does this motivate you? Do you see this as goal? Does is spark your competitive spirit?
Or do you start to feel self conscious? Feel bad about yourself? Does it scare you away?

If it's the second then STOP!
You are letting people and things keep you from being the best form of yourself.

I have been going to the gym to workout since I was 13 years old. It took me 7 years to figure out what I like to do, to have the courage to go into a world that I didn't feel belonged to me, and to realize that when you work out, other people just don't matter. They are busy concentrating on their own workout, you shouldn't be too intimidated to step into the weight room just because it is filled with guys lifting some crazy amounts of weights, or girls who look like they own the domain. In reality you are intimidated not because they are scary people but because you see their confidence shinning and you think you can't perform at their level. And although this might be true now, you have to know that everyone started somewhere and everyone's journey is different. The confidence comes with comfort, once you find a passion for something, you will enjoy doing it so much that it will just come naturally, and this will open the door to new growth and improvement opportunities.

If there is truly something that you want to do, you should do it, and don't let anyone or anything stop you.

You want to try out that machine you don't even know how to use? Don't be intimidate by ignorance. Go up read the directions provided on the machine, chances are that you'll be able to figure it out.

You want to try out that new group fitness class? Do it! Two things could happen: 1. you absolutely love the class, in which case congratulations, you now have a new workout to add to your repertoire of gym activities. 2. you hate the class, okay figure out what you didn't like about it and you have now learned something about your gym preferences.

People spend too much time comparing themselves to others and concerning themselves with what everyone else might be thinking, Everyone just needs to concentrate on what they are doing, and on reaching their own personal goals.
Concentrate on your journey.

This not only applies at the gym, that was just a simple way to get the message through. This idea is something that could be applied to all aspects of your life.

Motivate yourself,
Concentrate on your journey,
Build up your self confidence and skills.
